A gunfight broke out near a park in the Villeray neighbourhood on Thursday night. It was still not clear Friday morning if it had resulted in any injuries. Montreal police say that a car with an indeterminate number of occupants approached a group of people in front of Nicolas-Tillemont Park around 7:15 p.m. Witnesses who called 9-1-1 said a conflict then broke out and shots were fired on both sides. Hours after the shooting, none of the city’s hospitals had notified police of any patients arriving with gunshot injuries. The canine unit was deployed around the park, which is located in a residential area, and found a bullet casing on the ground.The investigation is ongoing.
