Montreal city workers are trying to fix a water leak that has paralyzed traffic since 8 a.m. Sunday in Mile-End.
A broken water main shot a hole in the asphalt on Van Horne Ave., near Park Ave., flooding the area with jets of water reaching two metres high.
Water in the area, between Park Ave. and Hutchison St., has been shut off until the repairs are completed.
Police have closed the intersection and put in a detour until city worker can fix the broken pipe.
Police recommend avoiding this area. Park Ave. is closed between Van Horne Ave. Beaubien St. and Van Horne Ave. is closed between Park Ave. and Hutchison St.
