Nightmare on Turcot: Transport Québec says greatest traffic impact yet to come

It will be at least two Christmas seasons of hell for anyone who has to drive west out of the downtown core. 

Transport Quebec unveiled the latest closures to affect the spaghetti network of roads in the city’s core on Thursday, and the impacts will be severe and long lasting.

Major closures will affect the westbound Ville-Marie, the Décarie Expressway, and Highway 15 near Verdun. The closures will begin mostly in mid-December and last into 2019. Transport Quebec would not commit to a date when the portions of the highway will be reopened. 

Starting in mid-December, the two busiest entrances to the westbound Ville-Marie Expressway will be closed. Both the Fort St. entrance and the Lucien l’Allier entrances to the expressway will be closed.
