  1. If Erik Karlsson wants to play for your team, you do your damn best to make it happen. For one season, you could run Karlsson, Weber and Petry as RDs. At this point, who cares about the LDs? Then you can trade Petry during the 2020 offseason for assets. Karlsson was injured for the entire playoffs, he got his surgery and he's expected to make full recovery.

With Karlsson, Montreal isn't just a bubble team, they are a legit Cup contender.

  2. I say if he wants an offer from MTL. If i am mb i offer him. Not every day superstars want to come to MTL. I believe Karlsson needs a fresh start!

  5. I think it would be a big mistake to give him 7 x $10mil. I'd be surprised if any team gives him that. I'd take him on a 5 year contract max. We could even play him on left D for a year.

I think it's more likely Bergy is going to try for Duchene, and trade for a top left D man. Helping our scoring and power play. Also opening up a couple of roster spots for Poehling and Suzuki.

  6. It does sound sexy that being said we have some big core player contracts coming up in the not to distant future . The questions we have to ask how much longer will he be productive. He might improve our power play and puck transition. That being said if becomes a plug that’s a lot to soak up on the cap. My heart is telling me he made have played his best hockey. Bergevin will have to weight his options. I wouldn’t mind having him if he produces what he did in the past.

  7. Would be nice nice not gonna lie but to give him the full "Rod Tidwell" offer to me would be ludicrous!! I hope MB puts on his poker face and realizes that it's the "Karlsson" camp who wants a "Competitive" offer from Les Habitants so don't get that misconstrued and offer up the farm in cap spending or atleast structure that so the hit gets smaller as that potential deal matures…We have alot of talent coming up to sign, so having that buffer in cap space will serve well moving forward, Lord knows we don't want to get into the same debacle the Leafs are finding themselves currently in lol just look at them now trying to offload all these depth guys ie kadri marleau kapanen etc etc just to sign bitch marner hahaha hate to be dubas rn lmao Karlsson is all skill no heart tho so meh I'm 50/50 on this situation although I'd really love to see a bonafide sniper upfront!! Man I hope we land Rafael Lavoie in the draft lol GO HABZ GO!!! WOOOOO!

  9. I would go all in for Karlsson if I was in Marc Bergevin's shoes. #1. It would fix the PP. #2 having 3 very good to amazing right hand def is not a problem, because they the 3 of them makes the left defenseman better. #3 MTL can either trade Petry as his value is high or wait next year the last year of his contract and trade him. And # it's god damn Erik Karlsson!!!

  10. Karlsson, that money/term? Big fat NO. You don’t pay for past performances. Now in a great place financially the HABS. Spend smartly. In fact, more interested in HOW the HABS can get top LD, TOP6 big F in the short term (with Poehling, maybe Suzuki, coming in, maybe time to trade a regular With trade value, Byron?; durability – and yep size – key in long playoff run). Then, how do you replace the underrated Petry in 2 years? Not that excited about 1st-July. UFAs, either overrated or toxic. And the MTL MSM have become click-baiters and total jokes.

Just wanted to say that I don't always stop by to watch but when I do, it's a good listen. Keep it up

  15. I don't think we can have another 10M$ + player on the team. Look at Toronto, they are stuck. Don't forget that Max Domi will commend 8M$ +

  16. I've been back n forth on this, but I think if we can get Karlsson – get him. The main tilt factor for me is injury. It's not talked about much during armchair GM sessions, but there is a certain amount of 'assumed injury' that will take place. Weber last year is a perfect example. If we have another stellar D we won't be left so vulnerable if/when our top pieces go down. I also believe Karlsson can play the left side. I would not say that about virtually any other D, but K uses the entire ice anyway. AND Weber & Petry both are used to sliding over to the left for special teams, so being able to rotate them on an 'as needed' basis from side to side would not be a stretch IMO.

I would like to see K on the left side top four – assumingly with Weber but maybe with Petry depending on chemistry. I am a BIG Mete fan. After Webby returned and MB made his late season D moves with Kulak & Folin, this D core wasn't terrible… not Karlsson level but way better than the previous 18 months. I think Mete will develop into something special, and I would be very mindful of his development as he continues to improve. So don't throw him aside or away. He's only 20 and plays his best hockey beside Weber on the top line, and while he may not yet be a true #1/2 he is getting there quickly, and who better to teach him than Weber? Chemistry will ultimately dictate, but those are my thoughts. Great Video.
