Liveblog: Colorado at Canadiens

If Ryan O’Reilly laid waste to the Canadiens – which the Blues forward did in St. Louis Thursday – imagine what Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen might do the home team at the Bell Centre.

But maybe they won’t.

If the Canadiens can contain the Avalanche’s top line, we could have an entertaining game Saturday night.

Let’s hope.

The Canadiens were woeful in St. Louis. Their loss left the Canadiens on the outside looking in at a Wildcard playoff berth; and both Buffalo and the Islanders – current Wildcard occupants – hold games in hand.

Plus Carolina is creeping up.

TSN analyst Dave Poulin says the Canadiens’ performance leading into the All-Star break would determine whether the team will be playing hockey in mid-April.

So far, not so good.
