Firefighters in Terrebonne were called in to extinguish a blaze in a pizzeria that turned out to be a case of arson.
The fire, in a restaurant called Pizza La Montana, on J.S. Archambault Blvd., began shortly after midnight Friday.
When firefighters and police arrived, the fire had already spread through the restaurant and they noticed that the back door was open.
Firefighters found other elements at the scene that led them to believe the blaze was deliberately set.
No one was injured in the fire but electricity in the surrounding area was temporarily cut off while firefighters did their work.
Investigators with the Terrebonne police are looking are looking for witnesses who might have seen something before the fire began.
